Felix

Felix is a 21 year-old DNA female yellow-crowned Amazon, and as much as we hate to admit it, she is very much a woman’s bird. She believes in peaceful coexistence with the man of the house, but she would prefer that a male not “violate” her space and will usually exit stage left when approached by a man. Oh, but you can live with that! In true Amazon fashion, this girl is a great eater, enjoying Zupreem pellets, fruits, veggies and nuts. She likes almonds as snacks, and Avicakes and Nutriberries really get her attention. Her favorite comfort food is mashed potatoes with mixed vegetables. A real entertainer, Felix cackles like a chicken, crows like a rooster, and sometimes calls for Oscar (her clutch mate); apparently, then, she has a good memory for names! She also occasionally says “Momma.” In her previous life, she did befriend a Goffins cockatoo, and we assume she would be capable of replicating that friendship if the conditions were right. Though she will step up to come out of her cage, it’s usually preferable that she go back on a stick because she may not be in the mood to return, as she hates missing out on any fun. Felix is a low-maintenance, experienced pet, who does like to cuddle with her main person. Her adoption fee is $400, which includes her cage.
