Sado
SADO (pronounced "Sah-doe"; Sado is one of Japan's largest islands) is an 18 year-old DNA-sexed Senegal parrot, who was only four months old when his owner acquired him. Sadly, her main person, who loves Sado very much, has now been diagnosed with a debilitating health issue that makes it impossible to care for Sado any longer. He describes Sado as having been a great pal for all these years, and we're sure Sado will make a wonderful companion for the person who appreciates a bird with lots of personality and spunk. Though she doesn't talk much, Sado is quite animated an interactive and she loves to be with her human; she also likes to break bread with people and has become quite the gourmet omnivore. In addition to bird food, Sado has developed a fondness for shrimp, pork, beef and chicken (all well-cooked, please!), and likes an occasional Cheese-it or corn chip as a snack while watching TV. Salty snacks, of course, should be served in VERY limited quantities. Sado steps up nicely and enjoys being scritched on the head during quiet times. She has been known to enjoy an occasional fly-by; she also likes walkabouts on the countertop. Sado's adoption fee is $315 and include a size-appropriate cage
